Winston (nee ButterPecan)

Just to let you know, thank you for finding me a fantastic place to live!!!!!!! My name was formerly Butter-Pecan.

- John

Jigsaw (nee Tay)

We adopted "Tay" less than two weeks ago, but he has already made himself very much at home in our household. We decided to call him "Jigsaw" because the marking on his face looks like a piece of a jigsaw.

He is still very playful, which makes me think he might be younger than 2 years. He is affectionate and purrs a lot. He enjoys sitting on laps. His appetite is good and he very soon identified which is the food cupboard! I think we can count this as a successful adoption. Thanks.

- Valerie & Sue

Oreo (nee Dwight)

I had the privelage of adopting oreo (was then named dwight), in november, my 1st kitten/cat ever, he is five months now and oreo and myself seem to be adjusting wonderfully. I was a bit nervous being a 1st time pet owner but he chose me that day and i couldnt be happier. He is a very gentle and sweet little guy who sleeps on his own pillow in bed, and luvs to wake me up by patting my head every "early" morning, and i couldnt be happier. I would recommend everyone to adopt a loving animal from BHS, best thing i ever did.

- Roberta

Jacques

Hi- Just a note to say how well young Jacues is doing since we adopted him on Saturday. He is running our house now! Here are some shots of Jacuqes playing last night. We just love him. Our other senior cats are enjoying Jacques' home explorations, and tail chasing. He's a spunky lad with tons of joy.

Thank you again! We hope Gilles finds a loving home soon as well!

- Sheila & Eugene

Rudy

I realize you get a lot of adoption updates about recently adopted animals but I thought you might like a more long term update! I adopted Rudy from your shelter in November of 2002 and he has been a happy part of my home ever since.

He has lots of energy and loves to run around after his "mice" or play with my other cat. I call Rudy my "handsome" boy because as you can see from his picture he is a very good looking cat!! He's also very sucky and sleeps beside me every night.

Rudy has brought so much joy to me over the years and I wanted to thank you for bringing him into my life.

- Allison

Casey (nee Cassie)

We adopted Casey (formerly Cassie), our Retriever/Husky cross, last August from Burlington Humane and what a great gal she is! Casey is still very much a puppy in an adult's body but we are teaching her to be a graceful young lady. Our oversized lap dog was a star student at obedience school and as long as there is food involved she is VERY attentive. Always gentle and eager to please, Casey is the constant companion of our other dog Duke and also enjoys the company of our cats Lucy & Sally. The dogs play, eat and sleep together with only the occasional squabble. Duke has even taught Casey that car rides can be fun! Not a day goes by that we aren't grateful for having Casey in our lives.

- Kevin & Pam

Momo (nee Stanley)

Just an update on Momo (formerly known as Stanley). It's been about a month and a half since Momo came home with us, and he's adjusting great. He's gotten used to his new surroundings and he's still as bouncy and joyful as ever. He's every bit the playful pup that he's supposed to be, as evident by his frolicking in the snow during the first snowfall (and all of the subsequent snowfalls...so far). Momo now spends his days running and hiding in his bed whenever he finds "treasure" (ie. a stray sock or glove), cuddling in turn with each of us, and bringing sound (or noise) to our household - especially now that he's gotten the hang of how to play with his squeaky toys. We're really happy to have Momo as a part of our family, and would like to say thanks to you all for bringing us together!

- Joanne

Annie (nee Lotus)

We lost our baby girl, Lucy, suddenly in December. Now we have Lotus (A.K.A. Annie) so the home is not so empty any more. We renamed her Annie after Little Orphan Annie. She was and orphan and we gave her a home. She is having a nap at the front window and loves to be with us. She won't leave my side and slept with us from the first night we brought her home.

- Dave

Boomer (nee Blackbeard)

Boo has quickly become a loved member of our family and is getting settled in to his new home and doing lots of exploring. However, as you can see he also likes to do a lot of sleeping especially when it is cold and snowy outside because then he sleeps on top of the hot air vent and stays nice and warm! Boo has many toys and loves chasing his cat toys down the hall which is great exercise and also a lot of fun. Although Boo still has some medical issues he seems to take everything in stride and we are showering him with love and affection in the hopes that he will feel safe and protected with us. Once the weather warms up he will be introduced to his cat cage which sits on the back desk under the arbour and is lovely and shady in the hot weather and I will be hopefully training him to a leash so we can roam around the back yard together and explore all those neat places he can see from the back patio door!

- Jude & Allen

Billy (nee Yoda)

A few weeks before Christmas we decided to add a new member to our family. A new litter of kittens had arrived at the Humane Society and we chose a little fluffy one named Yoda. It took a few days for us to pick his name but he is now very happy as Billy, (Bungalow Bill!). Our two year old cat Smokey was not as happy as the rest of us, and took some time to adjust to the new family member. I am pleased to report that they are doing much better. Smokey lets the little one know when he has had enough! They play now very energetically and groom each other often too. We would like to thank the Burlington Humane Society for providing a loving home for Billy until he was old enough to come to us! We love him lots!

- Lynn

Lulu

At first she was shy but now loves to explore every little corner she can. No problems with her at all, she’s a gentle little lady. As you can see in the pictures she has found several favorite spots for napping.

- Dean and Renee

Beans (nee Josie) and Sprout (nee Izzy)

I have been meaning to write for so long to let you know how well “Josie” (or as we know her “Beans”) has been doing. Colin and I adopted Beans about 6 months ago and she made herself welcome from the second we opened her crate door. Beans loves to be around us 24/7 and makes her presence known by laying on our tiny bathroom counter as I TRY to do my hair and makeup in the morning. Beans is always at the door when we get home and asks for as much attention as possible until we go to bed (although she has a hard time understanding the concept of sleep when she tries to eat our hair). She is such a funny character and we wanted to get her a playmate for during the day when we’re away at work. This is how we came to have “Izzy” (or as we know her “Sprout”). We adopted “Sprout” on December 27th 2008, so have not really had her for that long. Yet she too has made herself quite comfortable, jumping all over the furniture and playing all day and all night with Beans. We have been so fortunate to have adopted too amazing cats that have become such a central part of our family. Thank you for all your help and keep up all the amazing work that connects precious animals with loving families!

- Rachel & Colin

Charlie

We adopted Charlie in October and we love him to bits. He is full of energy, and only seems to get into mischief when he wants more attention, as you can tell from the attached picture. He is very loving and loves being with us at all times. We are so happy we picked him- we had gone to the humane society for months before picking Charlie, and we are glad we waited for him.

He gets along wonderfully with all his cousins, who are dogs too. He had a great Christmas playing tag with the doggies. He is a great traveler too.

We can't image life with out him now.

- Thank you, Jessica, Gilbert and Charlie

Forrest (nee Munchkin)

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get!

I adopted Munchkin from the Burlington Humane Society at the beginning of September 2008. My other cat Linus craved the attention of a “new friend”, after the loss of his brother Pablo, earlier this year.

I brought Munchkin home and let him out of the cat carrier. He ran around the house like a wildebeest on the Serengeti. He ran everywhere...food...run run run...water...run run run...door...run run run. Needless to say, his name was quickly changed from Munchkin to Forrest, after the famous movie line “Run Forrest Run”!

Forrest has adjusted extremely well to his forever home. His favourite pastimes include running, chasing shadows, eating, and investigating shoes. “Momma always says there’s an awful lot you can tell about a person by their shoes”.

His future aspirations include owning a fleet of shrimp vessels.

- Sharon & Linus

Baby Bear (nee Tuck)

Back before Christmas my husband and I adopted a beautiful black kitten named Tuck. He was the one that had lost his tail climbing in the engine of a vehicle. We just wanted you all there to know how much we love this baby. We have renamed him Baby Bear. As he gets older it will just be Bear. He has won the hearts of the other 2 older cats. They are actually playing with Baby Bear. We sure do get a lot of laughs!!! We will bring in a picture in the near future. We cannot imagine not have such wonderful company.

- Linda & Allan

Dudley (nee Nacho)

Just to give you an update on Nacho (now named Dudley). He is doing great. He ended up adopting 1 other brother and 2 sisters and he took to them very well. He tries to be dominate sometimes but I think that is just cause he is the younges. He adjusted amazingly when we brought him home. That night he was sleeping on my head and purring his little heart out, and he even purrs when I cut his nail!! He is my first pet and the most amazing one too!!! Thank you sooo much for letting me have him. I have attached a picture of him and another one with him and his brother and sisters.

- Stacey

Maddy

Maddy is new to our home and has been adjusting very well. She is such a good kitty that loves to be snuggled and to play. We thought that we would send some pictures for you to see her in her new home. We are so happy to have her here with us!

- Beth & Steve

Gizzy (Gizmo)

It's Gizzy's (Gizmo's) second day in her new home and she's all settled in and being spoiled like crazy. She's enjoying all the space to run around and the new places to hide. She loves all the treats, watching the birds in the window, and curling up in our fuzzy blanket, but best of all she has a new friend, our other cat Amber. A few months ago, our cat Cassie had to be put-down and Amber was really lonely and started licking parts of herself bald. When we saw Gizzy it was like it was meant to be. At first, she and Amber were unsure of eachother, but now they follow eachother around the house. We love our new addition to our family and we love her very much!

- Laina

Carrots (nee Pumpkin)

Yesterday I adopted our little Orange tabby `formerly named Pumpkin, her new name is `Carrots`!

Carrot`s first evening went very well indeed! I cuddled and bonded with her until almost one am :) Carrots was relaxed enough she was playing with her new little toys after a couple hours.

I have her confined in the kitchen just for a couple days until she is more comfortable with her surroundings. Carrots had her first morning nap on my lap this morning while I did my usual morning computer work :)

Carrots is part of the family now and I am so lucky to have found her on your web page and was able to adopt her into our family!! Thank you so much!!

- Kathy

Bella Taffy (nee Taffy)

We just wanted you to know that Taffy (or Bella Taffy, as she is now named) is doing well in her new home. We were a bit concerned at first as she hid in her carrier in the bathroom (despite the fluffy bed and warm towel on the floor) and hissed everytime we tried to get her out. We have since moved her up to my daughter's bedroom in the hopes that hearing her breathing all night would encourage her to cuddle. She has started to purr when you pick her up. My girls have been sitting with her and stroking her to get her to eat and she seems quite fine with that and is starting to eat on her own. As of yesterday, she is actually playing with the dog with no fear. We're delighted with her progress and she really seems to be coming out of her shell. I just thought you'd like to know as I know she was very shy. She is a very welcome and delightful addition to our family!

- Melanie

Dr. Albert McMeowsers (nee Tux)

Remember me? I'm Dr. Albert McMeowsers (formerly known as "Tux"). I thought it would be nice to drop you a line and thank you for helping me get on my (big) feet. I spent a couple of weeks at your hotel before renting myself an apartment with a nice young lady. I find my evenings exceptionally hectic with work as both a professional Snuggler and Motor Boat Sound Effect Technician ("purr purr purr"). My days are spent napping, and busying myself with interior design--relocating the toilet paper rolls to various areas of the house, and recovering the furniture with black fur. Apartment lady shows great potential as a forever friend (I think she's already smitten with me... What can I say? The ladies are suckers for my handsome tuxedo!)

Thanks again. Off to find a sunbeam.

- Amanda & Albert

Cody (nee Renaldo)

Just wanted to give you an update on Cody (Renaldo). The family just loves him. He is very playful and can also be the biggest suck. He is getting along great with our other cat Monty even though at first Monty wasn't too impressed he is definitly getting used to Cody being around. They like to chase eachother around the house and Cody is very patient if Monty doesn't want to play anymore. I think they have an understanding of who is the "boss" of the house. Cody listens very well when he is doing something he is not suppost to, but otherwise he has been a great little kitten. He often likes to snuggle up with one of us on the couch and is one of the best cats I have known to be so quiet at night! We love him and I think he has become quite comfortable with his new home.

- Tanguay Family

Selena & Gomez (nee Karen & Kerry)

Selena and Gomez were five month old kittens when we adopted them. It was a snow day so my brother and I didn’t have school. My mom was home with us and all day we looked for cats. We were looking for cats because our cat Tabby had died earlier in the winter at the old age of nineteen. But then we decided we would go and adopt the cats my mom had seen the night before. When we adopted them their names were Karen and Kerry. Their names were changed soon after to Selena and Gomez. They were very skittish at first but they eventually came around. Now Selena and Gomez groom each other, love each other, play fight with each other, and most important they love their family.

- Maureen & Family

Misha & Isabella (nee Esmerelda)

I adopted Misha a four month old grey tabby and Isabella nee (Esmeralda) a year old black beauty a week ago and I can’t get enough of them. They have adjusted very well in their new home and I’ve taken my place as their servant and wouldn’t have it any other way. I thank the Burlington Humane Society so much my girls have brought a lot of laughs and joy to our house.

- Marianne

Clara (nee Tammy)

Clara (nee Tammy) had a rough beginning and was picked up on the streets with her litter mates at five and a half months old. When she came home with me last November, Clara was fearful and unsure, just as the adoption counsellor at the BHS had warned me. She ran from every new sight and sound - even the light from the television was too scary!

Well, with lots of patience, quiet surroundings and TLC, she's sure changed! I wanted to share these photos of my sweet girl with you. She's very much the "princess of the house" and she thinks that she deserves every bit of attention she can get. (Of course, she's so beautiful and funny that I want to pay attention to her every second!)

Thanks to everyone at BHS who put up with my daily phone calls till Clara was ready to come home. You didn't know it, but everyone in my office got written daily reports on her progress, and we had a celebration when she finally arrived at her forever home. Your work has made all the difference in this little life!

- Dianne

Oliver

Wow it's been a while, Our family first got oliver in february 2004, he had been the first dog to come into our lives since our last dog was killed in a car accident. Oliver has just been a delight. little trouble maker, but as sweet as can be. he can be quiet, but playful as well. which keeps us and him intrested in dogs play. he usually loves to curl up on a blanket in the sun and just lounge all day. on our way home from school he'd sit outside and wait for us, he'd come to learn the times we'd come home and the times we left, where it got to the point when he knew when his own walk was supposed to be.

We absolutly love him thank-you for posting him in the newspaper for us. I know we almost lost him to my dentist, who was also looking at him.

- Kristen

Kobi

This is the story of Kobi our new cat.We adopted him and after a little coaxing he has ajusted well his new home. He is very affectionate and likes to play with strings jump on our heads at night and chase our other cat Minda. His favorite place to sit is in the window watching the neighbourhood. We all love him very much and know he will be very happy in our family.

- Harmonie

Charlie (nee Chris)

I adopted Chris, who I have renamed Charlie on July 10th, 2008 from Burlington Humane. Charlie was found outside and taken to a vet then to Burlington Humane. He was there for some time, patiently waiting to be adopted. I knew of Charlie, but unfortunately had to put my cat, Tammy, down and was not ready for another pet.

As a few months passed, I kept thinking of Charlie and decided to adopt this sweet cat. Although he was born outside, he is a wonderful cat and only needed two days to adjust to his new environment, to me and to my other cat named Becki.

I do wish more people could take a cat from the outside, with lots of love and a little patience and attention, they can make a great pet and dear companion.

- Ann

Shamus

It's been almost two months since we brought Shamus home with us. It took some time to get used to the new setting and the new faces, but after a few days we were all best friends. Now Shamus loves to greet us whenever we come home, enjoys the occasional snuggle, and sleeping at the foot of our bed. He's doing great, and is very vocal about his affection and hunger :). He's been a great addition to our new family and we look forward to having him along for the ride.

- The Sanders

Riley (nee Romeo)

We thought you might like to see some updated photos of Riley (formerly Romeo), who we adopted in June.

He eats like a horse and he's growing like a weed!

You'll be pleased to know he's still extremely mischievous, and probably spends every waking moment thinking up new ways to be bad. Thankfully, he's very cute, so he gets away with it every time.

Riley loves his new home, and gets along very well with Oskar, his new friend and our other cat. Our home is now over-run with cat toys. Life is very, very good.

- Craig & Laura

Maxie (nee Pixie) and Minnie (nee Flora)

Maxie is a lovable 5 year old calico that we adopted from Burlington Animal Aid in August, 2005. She has a great personality and seeks attention daily by meowing while rubbing up against your legs or curling up in your lap. We recently lost our 16 year old tabby cat and not wanting Maxie to be an only cat, we once again went to BHS seeking a companion for her.

We have only had Minnie with us for only a couple of weeks, but she has already captured our hearts. She is a tiny black and white 1 year old cat with extra toes on each paw so she looks like she is wearing mittens.

She spent her first day with us racing through the house inspecting each and every corner while Maxie watched with interest. Maxie and Minnie are slowly adjusting to one another and hopefully before long, they will be best buddies.

Many thanks to BHS for all the good work you do and for making the adoption process a successful and happy one.

- The Campbells

Tory (nee Jenny)

We adopted Tori (nee jenny)on August 30th, 2008. She has fit in perfectly. She wears a puple collar around her neck with a bell on it so we know when trouble is coming. Her Favourite toy is a pen. When we slide it across the floor she runs right after it, crashing into the nearest wall. She loves to be held and cuddled with in a nice warm blanket, but is always giving us our early morning wake up calls. Her meows have got louder and she is not as light as she use to be but we enjoy watching her grow. She has only been here for a couple mounths and already she thinks she own the place. She is the perfect cat for our family.

- Jeff, Maria, Taylor, and Jordan

Roman (nee Wendall)

I thought I would send a picture and update on Roman (previously Wendell). He is now living in Guelph with his "big cat" brother Maverick. Roman is a gentle kitten who loves everyone he meets. He has had 2 vet appointments at the Guelph Cat Hospital for his immunizations and check ups. He will be neutered in October (lucky Roman). He is healthy and growing well.

Maverick adjusted well and is enjoying showing Roman all the big cat behaviors such as scratching on his scratching post and chasing treats for extra exercise. Where ever Maverick goes, Roman is not far behind. Maverick gives Roman a bath every day, which actually leaves Roman wet from all the licking.

Attached is a picture taken when Roman first arrived home. Note how tiny he is compared to Maverick.

Thank you Burlington Humane.

- Linda

Tilly

Just thought that I would update you on Tilly. She is doing very well and she and her big sister 'Emmy' are getting along fine. She loves to play, however, she has yet to learn to share toys - all are hers!

She enjoys riding in the car, long walks and running in the yard with Emmy. We have little to no grass left, but they are enjoying the constant game of tag!

The Mackays

Goober (nee Napa) and Grover (nee Ronnie)

Goober (top) was adopted July 4th 2007. He is an absolute sweetheart, very playful and the biggest suck. It didn't take him long to get use to myself and my fiance. Goober loves to sit at the sliding door and observe the birds and squirrels. His favourite toy is his stuffed animal cat named Molly that he wrestles with.

Grover (bottom) was adopted July 21st 2008. After having her for a few days she finally got use to myself and the house. It didn't take her as long to become friends with Goober. She is very sweet, gentle and loves affection.

Grover and Goober have bonded already. They love to chase each other around the house and play with one another.

Thank you very much to everyone at Burlington Humane Society.

Melissa

Maggie (nee Cameel) and Georgie (nee Cambra)

As my 2 girls will be a year old next week I thought I'd send you updated pictures. They are Maggie (formerly Cameel) and Georgie (formerly Cambra). One picture was taken just after they'd been spayed (poor babies) and the other picture was taken just last week (27th July).

They were adopted on 3rd November 2007 and, as you can see, have both grown into beautiful adult cats who love to give cuddles and kisses. I am so pleased I took both sisters as they are great company for each other. They love to sleep on my bed (or preferably in it!) or on top of the fridge.

Thanks again

Stephanie

Fergie (nee Flossy)

I just wanted to write to you a little update about my recent adoption of Ms. Fergie Fabulously Flossy McFadden (nee Flossy). Tomorrow marks our one week anniversary together and let me say that it has been a wonderfully amazingly awesome ride thus far. We are having a blast together!!!

When I first took her home and let her out of the travel cage, she emerged slowly and then darted quickly around the condo sizing up the joint. Then, after about ten minutes of ripping through the place, she discovered "under the bed". What a cozy, warm, secure place that was... and all of a sudden her new favourite place to be. She would periodically come out during the next couple of days. Probably once every hour to scope out the place more. Then quickly dash under the bed. She acknowledged me on occasion, and if she felt up to it, would come close and show affection, then as quickly as it started, it ended and "under the bed" she went.

By Monday night, her "under the bed" days were pretty much over. She was out exploring and experiencing all that she could. Trying to conquer the highest points in the condo. Of course, to my utter surprise one day, somehow she had managed to climb up on TOP of the kitchen upper wall cabinets. I'm still in awe of this as she's 12 years old. Looks like age has nothing to do with anything and Ms. Fergie definitely has proved this. Another little tidbit about my new girl, she's a talker. Every night when I get home, she talks my ear off, which is GREAT because I talk just as much. The conversations we have, I tell ya!

We have both adapted very well with our change and I am definitely more than happy and pleased that I have her in my life now. She has her favourite spots in the condo, a chair in the dining room and my underwear drawer, believe it or not. Every morning this week when I get ready for work, she waits for me to open that drawer then she climbs in and just lounges there till I am done. Now, it's the first thing I do each morning when I get up I open the closet, open the drawer and let her have her "lounging moments" too funny.

I also have to note that I was so very pleased with the staff and volunteers at BHS who helped me during the adoption process. It was a remarkable experience and one in which I will definitely do again. You ALL were so friendly, helpful and sincere. I feel like we all got what we wished for in the end. At days end, when I crawl into bed and Ms. Fergie quickly follows, purring like a mad cat I have a huge smile on my face and I think she does too and that's what it's all about I think.

Again, thank you SO much for Ms. Fergie (nee Flossy) I know we will have many years together smiling away.

Dave

Buster (nee Blizzard)

Hello there! Just thought I would send you a note letting you know I'm doing great here in my new home. I was adopted March 13, four months ago to a family you really love me and think I am so good. Thank You for finding me a home. I have to take a nap again all this emailing and playing tires me out.

Buster (Blizzard)

Crocket

We adopted Crocket in September 2006. He wasn't too sure of our dog, Violet, at first, but as you can see they are now close buddies. Thank you for all you do for these loving animals.

The Joyce Family

Misty (nee Pookie)

Just wanted to send a note on how well Misty AKA Pookie is doing. She is the most affectionate and lovable kitty I've ever seen, just here as I'm typing she is on my lap pawing at my face for kisses. She was the absolute best choice.

She sleeps with us at night and gets along very well with our dog. Incfact, she went to him the first night and slept with him. She has been enjoying the nice weather sitting on the swing with us, even having her own little naps (she only goes on the balcony with us). While relaxing, she will find you and stretch out or curl up in your lap. She is so very happy when one of us comes into the room, purrs so loud, sits up and raises her paw to you for attention (which she certainly gets plenty of), she gives us as many kisses and hugs too (believe it or not) as we give to her.

We just want to thank everyone for their help while choosing her. I know we kept you guys late that night, but believe me it was for a good cause, Misty has a loving home, we cannot say enough about her. We absolutely love and adore her and I am quite certain she feels the same.

Amanda, Tim & Karli Draper. Don't forget Misty Draper

Slushy & Emily

REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD!

I adopted Slushy, and recently I also also adopted Slushy's mother, Emily. I am happy to report that they still remember each other and couldn't be happier. They both love each other so much and are so excited to be reunited again. They will spend the rest of their lives together.

Thank you so much, Burlington Humane Society. Slushy and Emily have brought a lot of joy into my life and I feel very blessed.

Linda

Murphy

I recently had the chance to adopt Murphy (formerly Bob Jr ) after losing my little Supersnuff. He gets along fantastically well with Skittles, although sometimes I suspect he doesn't realize how huge he is! Thanks to the staff at Bay Cities Animal Hospital and Animal Aid/Burlington Humane for looking after him.

Fiona

Sophie (nee Tuffy)

I just wanted to send an email to let you know that Sophie (aka-Tuffy) is doing great, and hardly recognizable from when we first brought her home as she has done a lot of growing.

Sophie has changed so much, not just her size, but her coloring, and her mix of breeds, I wonder if her littermates have done the same?

Renee

Echo (nee Mystery)

As you all know, we lost Chinook after almost 12 years of cuddles, attitude and popcorn in March. While my good friend can never be replaced, we have found a young boy to get some purr on. Meet Echo Newman, 6 months old next week (yep, another Scorpio in the family LOL) Best way to describe his personality?? Diesel, our dog in a cat form LOL Enough said!

His purr can be heard from upstairs, and when he realizes he's alone in an area, his little mew belies the sparkle in his orange eyes. He is learning that jingly mice tied with elastic strings to a doorknob cannot be brought into the laundry room; walking on the outside of the stair banister is fun; dog food crunches waaaay better than cat food; Diesel IS a dork and cactus spines can groom you back if you're careful :-)

He's taken quite a shine to the kids, and I'm sure by this time next month, he and Diesel will be the best of friends. I can't wait for you to meet the newest Newman (or is that Newcat?)

Lori Newman

Spots

Spots, that playful little imp you rescued as a kitten, is as much trouble as he was before! His shenanigans and crazy actions make him a loveable monster. His brother Willow is his rival as well as his scheming partner. It is a hoot to watch them tackle and play. One thing I found out when I got Spots- cats make sounds that resemble seals! Is that just Spots, or is it the cats of the world? I think it's just Spots.

Hugs and kisses, Spots' Owner & Spots =)

Mack

I wanted to update you on Mack’s progress since I brought him home on Saturday.

The first thing Mack did on Saturday when we go home was to survey the entire house to ensure that his new home was satisfactory and pick out a few favorite spots. When the sun is shining, his first and foremost favorite spot is in front of the back door when he can sniff the spring breeze, lie in the sun and watch the birds while nodding off once in a while. He has allowed me to comb him each day, yet he is not shy to tell me when he has had enough. On Saturday night I had company and he allowed each person to pet him once or twice.

We have a daily routine of grooming where he lies in front of me so that I can comb him. Or his trick is to walk back and forth in front of me and I “get to hold the comb” while he walks under it. His coat is so soft and the winter tuffs are starting to come out. Also, I am very happy to report his appetite is healthy, he is drinking his water and he hasn’t missed the kitty litter once. My friends told me not to be alarmed if Mack goes into hiding once we are home as that is a cat trait - I’m still waiting for that to happen.

Thank you again for allowing me to adopt Mack. He is the most wonderful, beautiful, and entertaining addition to my family. I promise to send pictures soon.

Nancy

Moore

It's been a while since I adopted Moore (Dec /07) but I promised to send along. Including in this picture is Friday who I adopted a few years ago (and never sent a picture). Moore has adjusted quite well and loves to take long naps on his back with his feet straight up in the air. He continues to battle colitis which we are trying to control with diet however despite this his disposition of impossibly sweet never changes. Him and Friday are on their way to being great friends, not quite there, but almost!!

Thanks for all your hard work rescuing these cats and giving them a second chance at a better life. They have certainly improved mine.

Hello :)

We adopted a kitten there about a month ago on a stormy snowy Saturday. We wanted to thank everyone there for letting us come in and see the kittens even though it was right before closing.

We picked a little black kitten and we named her Whiskey. Our other cat Smokey was jealous but they are best friends now. They eat, sleep, play and clean each other.

They are so cute together attached are a few pictures of them.

Thank you so much!!

Salem

It's been a while now since we adopted Salem. But it feels like she's been part of our family forever! What an absolute sweety she is. I met Salem while volunteering at BHS. As soon as I let her out of the cage she rolled on her back so I could rub her belly. From that moment she never left my heart. Already having a cat at home that is like a child to me I was a little concerned about how they would get along. But I really wanted to give Salem a good home so decided to try it out. I am happy to say that everything is fine! Salem has fit right in to our home. Salem has the sweetest soul. Never once has she hissed or scratched or shown any other emotion other than love love love! She loves to play with the feather toy, but her favourite thing to play with is a hanging string from a sweater or shirt! Salem loves to sit and chatter at the birds she can see through the back window...and she has certainly gotten the hang of how to ask for some treats! It has made us so happy to give this beautiful cat a loving home. She is such a wonderful cat that deserves every bit of love we can give her. She says hi and thank-you to all the wonderful people that took such good care of her while she was at BHS!

Dot & Rosie

hello Just thought you would like to know how Dot and Rosie are doing. They behave just like me and my sister do, Rosie likes to jump out and scare Dot, then chase her around as fast as her little legs will carry her. Dot goes up on her hindlegs when Rosie sneaks up on her and scares her really badly. It's so funny, because she spreads her front legs out so that she looks like godzilla. Rosie just stares at her, and isn't itimidated at all. Dot's gotten over the initial shock of having to share humans with Rosie. She likes to give Rosie kisses, and at times, they have a little hissing fit, but by the next day they have usually forgotten about it. Rosie has never encountered stairs before, and she keeps her feet together when she goes up them. This results in a very ladylike plonk plonk plonk jumping sequence. It's very hard to get a picture of Rosie, as she is a bit jumpy and hates the flash. At the very sight of the camera she runs off. Well, not really runs, but she waddles as fast as she can. :) Rosie and Dorothy are both very happy, and both are always a pleasure to have around. more photos to come =)

Elly (nee Ella)

Hi folks... Just a quick note and a photo of Ella... now named Elly for your liking. She is absoulutely adorable and has fit in as if she was here all her life. We have changed her name to Elly and she understands that quite easily. She sleeps with us and we are really enjoying her wonderful and affectionate company. She has the complete run of our home, and she is so well behaved. Its like she has said ' I have a pretty good home here now and intend on staying'!

Gary & Tiki

I have volunteered at theHumane Society since November 07 with the thought that I would one day bring home a cat. It was Gary's independent spirit which endeared me to him, as he sat in the shelter with a shaved neck as proof of the sacrifice he made giving blood to help save the lives of other cats, and he has proved to be a welcome addition to my home. In January I sensed that Gary was at times bored and, as such, I thought that he may enjoy a friend. Tailless Teiki seemed like a good fit. I introduced the pair slowly and have watched them grow slowly together. Gary has become a mentor to the younger ‘Tiki’ and when they are not wrestling each other from room to room they do enjoy quiet time together on the bed. Now if only Tiki would use his water dish…

Jazz (nee Sam) and Mimi (nee Carmen)

I volunteer at BHS and first met Jazz (nee Sam) in January, he needed a lot of TLC and all the volunteers took turns. February 16 I sat with him for an hour or so and he started responding and eventually came out of his comfy bed onto my lap and then on my shoulder. That was it for me as he had decided I was "trustworthy" and I adopted him.He came home with his bed as we felt it would ease the transition. I would put his bed beside me on the couch, patting him and talking and after 2 days he eventually came out and found the end of the couch quite comfy. He now started to explore his new place and decided the bedroom closet was the place he preferred to be during the day. He was very cautious and did not venture to come out until around 9:30 at night and would be back in the closet by 5am.

During that week I kept thinking of Carmen, a 2 year old cat from BHS. She is sweet and I thought she would be a great friend for Jazz.Carmen, now called Mimi, explored her new home and found Jazz in the closet. He promptly found another hiding place. Over the next couple of weeks it was interesting to see Mimi find all of his hiding places and he slowly started to come out at various times to see what she was up to.He liked treats twice a day and saw Mimi sitting in front of the windows and decided to venture closer and found out he was quite safe "inside".She taught him what to expect living in a loving home.Mimi would sit beside me on the couch and he would look from a distance.Slowly each day he would come closer until he eventually had the courage to jump on the couch and decided he liked the TLC.

At night Mimi slept with me as he looked from a distance until one night he decided to jump on the bed and now he is there every night. Mimi is such a great teacher for him. When there is anything new he looks at her first to see what she will do and then follows suit.Without her it would have taken a long time for him to feel so comfortable and safe in a home.

As Jazz got stronger he felt he had to defend his new territory and started to bully Mimi.He never physically hurt her but would corner her.I decided to separate them during the day and have a lot of talks with Jazz about his lack of manners.is working very well and Jazz is now totally cuddly and kind to Mimi.

I am so very happy to have these two beautiful cats in my life. Thank you BHS for being there to rescue animals.

Missy

I have been the proud Mom of Missy since last August (2008) and Missy will be One year old in June. She has been the most delighful addition to our family, and has certainly brought a tremendous amount of delight to even the most dreary of winter days. She loves to play with her feathered toys and enjoys anyone who happens to arrive at the front door. She believes anyone coming to visit is only here for her alone! I have never had a girl kitty (just two boys who both passed away last year) and I love her to bits. Thanks so much for helping me find another "love" in my life.

Darlene

Daisy (nee Lucky)

We have only had 8 month old Daisy (formerly Lucky) for a couple of weeks, but consider ourselves the "lucky" ones to have adopted such a beautiful girl!

Daisy immediately became part of our family. She loves to play with her toys and take long walks to meet the other dogs in the neighbourhood. She is always wanting to play with Amber, our 14 year old calico cat (adopted 7 years ago), but usually gets a clawless smack on the nose and a look that you just know says " I'm 14 and don't play with puppies!"

Border Collies love to learn new things, so she will be going to school starting very soon and continuing through all levels available.

We look forward to showing her off at the pooch promenade in May!

For myself I would like to thank the ladies at the Burlington Humane Society for a wonderful (and sometimes very funny) adoption experience.

Jodie

Cheetos (nee Randolf)

Randolf arived home safely. He jumped right out of the carrier and explored the house. It is amazing to see how friendly he is! My whole family loves him, and my cat, Patches, is slowly becoming more curious and less offended. We can't get over how gorgeous he is as we surround him in love and pets. His orange colour inspired me to re-name him Cheetos. Thank you again for rescuing animals, what a gift Cheetos is

Elizabeth

Pickles (nee Mulcahy)

From the moment this little pickle arrived, things have never been the same (for the better). Pickles is full of life, and full of love for his family. He loves to chase his two older sister's tails, play with his many small mice, and loves to cuddle up on the couch. My favourite trait of his is his little "meow", for a while he seemed to not be able to find his voice. Following his sister's lead, he is now the loudest in the kitchen in the morning. Our family of three cats is complete with Pickles, but we look forward to adopting with the Humane Society in the future.

Elaine & Chris

Max & Maxine

Max and Maxine are doing quite well. We love this couple of characters and feel so fortunate to have been at the right place when they were looking for a home. Thanks for everything! We will be in touch to update you on Max and Maxine very soon. Regards to all your volunteers and the lucky furry denizens of your shelter.

Marina and Jim

Slushy

Thank you so much for helping me find my beautiful little girl, Slushy. She's my new little buddy. After losing my 17 year old cat, Sisha, I felt lost. Slushy has helped fill the empty void left in my heart. We love each other to pieces. Slushy loves to sit in the sun on her cat perch in front of the big window. I know that Slushy, the boys and I will have many years of happiness together.

Linda

Ruckus & Ranger

We adopted Ruckus and Ranger in February 2008. We just wanted to let you know that they are doing great. They are such good cats, they love to cuddle with us on the couch and have their ears scratched. Ranger is still a bit nervous but she's coming around. She loves turkey gravy so we try and spoil her as much as possible. Ruckus is such a fat cat but we love him, he's gorgeous.

Jacqueline and Matt

Finn

We wanted to send you a few pictures of "Finn" who we adopted a couple of months back. He was one out of a litter of 7 kittens you had ready for adoption. Finn is wonderful and he is right at home with our other cats. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give Finn a loving home!

George & Jeanne

Cole

Finally a late picture of our wonderful new member Cole from the Burlington Humane Society. We are so happy with him and hopefully he is with us. He has quite a spirit and when he is rowdy loves running around the house after our 11 year old son Alexander. He has his cuddly times of course and times when he can calm a sad or nervous soul. Thanks again for a lovely addition to our family. He is fabulous.

Regards, Tina, Andy and Alexander

Grimlock (nee Luke)

I adopted Grimlock (nee Luke) about a month ago. I'm very happy to say he is the perfect cat. He follows me everywhere I go and loves to cuddle up with me in front of the TV or in bed at night. He also loves to play and although we've bought him many toys his favourite is tin foil balls. He loves attention and thinks I have nothing better to do than pet him for hours, which is absolutely adorable. Thanks BHS for giving these animals a chance to find their forever homes. Grimlock is everything I could have ever asked for.

Alison

Nacchi (nee Kevin)

This is just a note to say that the white and orange 5-month kitten (formerly called Kevin) is working out fine. Nacchi was very skittish for a few days, but we're best pals now. I haven't had any real problems; he is pretty well mannered. He doesn't climb the drapes or scratch the furniture and is quiet as a mouse at night. Maybe he's trying to make a good impression, but I hope he stays like this.

I modified (cat-ified?) a bookcase with holes and carpeting and climbing pole. You can see Nacchi hanging out on it in his photo. He's having a whale of a time playing, lounging and exercising on it.

I would like to thank you for your help with the adoption. Keep up the good work.

Ray

Whispurr (nee Optimus)

We adopted Whispurr (nee Optimus) February 7, 2008 at Pet Smart (Brant St). She is the most loving little girl. She is a whisper in the night and has the greatest loving "Purr". That is how she found her new name "Whispurr". She loves to lay on the bed with me and roll around and be petted. She returns her affection with little kitty kisses and little love nips. We are so happy we found her and she has found her forever home.

A thank you also to Pet Smart staff who loved Whispurr and were so happy Whispurr was going to her forever home and yet at the same time were so sad to see her go. Thank you again for taking such good care of her.

Thank you Dianne, Ron & Whispurr

Autumn

I met Autumn while volunteering at BHS and fell in love with her pretty quickly. The 'mean' cat who didn't like to be handled began to sit beside me while I filled out their out feeding charts, then she started to let me brush her and touch her and it wasn't long before I took her home with me.

I was surprised at how quickly she adjusted and trusted us and the other cats at home, but she has become a wonderful cat and she has a great personality. Autumn loves her 'brothers', she will even use the litter box with one of them and can often be found napping with them (pictured with Boomer). She adores being groomed, snuggled and playtime as well as sleeping with me at night - I couldn't ask for a better cat.

She is always the first one to greet me at the door when I get home and is happy to sit curled up in my arms while I tell her how the cats she was with at BHS are doing. She hasn't lost her feisty personality however, as you can see from the unimpressed Christmas photo and my 'little princess' will let you know exactly what she wants and that she wants it now (and being the only girl kitty, she gets exactly what she wants).

Eithne

Dory (nee Awtumn)

Well, it has barely been five days since Dory (once called Awtumn) came to our home. We are all loving her attention and gentleness. I especially appreciate her gentle and calming demeanor as a mother of two young and very active boys! In the evening, once the boys are in bed, I love her purrs and cuddles. She is warming up to the boys who reciprocate her softness and grace. She truly is a sweet little girl. Thank you to Julie who thought that Dory (Awtumn) would suit our family dynamic well...she definitely does!

Natalie

Horton, Sunshine & Molly (nee Iris)

Horton (black cat) was adopted back in April of 2004. Sunshine (calico) was also a rescue cat and although the first cat in the house, she was very happy to see Horton arrive. It did take a few days for the two to get to know each other but once they did they became the best of friends, playing and sleeping together. It was so nice to be able to welcome Horton home as he had been with BHS for over 9 months and needed to find a place to live. He is still very shy around new people and he and Sunshine find a place to hide together whenever the doorbell rings but when all is quiet he is quickly out finding the warmest spot in front of the fire to hang out. Horton and Sunshine have continued to be the best of friends and often play and sleep together. He is a special boy who has become a great companion to both me and Sunshine and we were very lucky to find such a great guy to join our family.

In October of this year, while volunteering at the BHS, I came across a new arrival all tucked in with a big bear as her friend. Molly (formerly Iris) had just arrived from the vets and was a tiny girl with big ears and big eyes in a big cage up in the corner of one of the rooms. She had been found in a parking lot by some very caring people who quickly took her in and to a vet clinic. Molly was very young, on her own and it was evident that the last few weeks had been very tough for her on the street. When she was found she had a bad eye infection (that's why she was named Iris originally) and she was very hungry. After a lot of TLC at the vet clinic, Molly moved into BHS and was looking for a foster home for a little more attention before she was ready to be adopted. I was so fortunate to be able to take Molly home to foster her that day and we had a great weekend together. It did not take long for Molly to become friends with my other cats (Sunshine, Horton and Angie) and it was an easy decision for me to welcome her to her forever home.

Molly is a great girl, playing with all of the other cats in the house and getting along well with everyone. It is amazing how my older girls tolerate her antics and how much fun Molly has with Horton. Molly is a lucky girl as she has three friends who like to play and curl up with her and we are a lucky family to have her join us. We are all thankful to the people who found her that day in the parking lot and quickly brought her to the vets so that she could begin her recovery. She is healthy, happy, and a very affectionate and playful girl.

I am so thankful to BHS for both Horton and Molly. Sunshine and Angie are also rescue cats and all are wonderful members of my family. Thank you to all at BHS for all that they did for my great cats and for all they do for the stray and abandoned animals in Burlington.

Homer

I just wanted to update you on Homer. We adopted him from Animal Aid on Jan.19 2004. See attached photo (Homer is the white one on the couch). Tomorrow will be his fourth anniversary with us. He claimed to be 14 or 15yrs old when we adopted him but he admits privately to being older. He is now at least 20yrs old and still going strong. Attached is a current photo of his "picturesque" mug. He's happy and living in Ottawa with his 3 adopted rescue brothers. He used to have a chair behind the desk in the main area of the old adoption centre. He has been a very loving addition to our family and has shown his appreciation for his royal treatment with every purr. His former people can rest knowing he spent the rest of his life in the lap of luxury. (At this rate, we're making provisions for him in our will).

Sushi, Skittles & Murphy

Just a message for a happy and prosperous 2008, and good luck with the new facility!

Without you and the staff there would be little hope for all the wonderful animals you look after. My life is so much more enriched since adopting Murphy, Skittles and Sushi.

Unfortunately we just had the year anniversary of sending Snuffles to Kitty heaven, but I have my others to fill that void. Bless you and the staff at BHS....

Kona (nee Tallulah)

Hi there, I just wanted to say thank you so much for your wonderful support and kindness with the adoption of our little one, Kona (formerly Tallulah). We just love her to pieces and can¹t get enough of her kisses, cuddles and playfulness! She loves to climb our stairs, chase after her mouse and play hide and seek with us! I¹ve attached a picture of her in her favourite spot in our home at the top of the stairs, underneath our pine tree, looking out the tall staircase window, or poking her head over the railings looking down at us.

She has found her way into our hearts and will always be a part of our family. We are looking forward to sharing many more wonderfully wacky moments with her! She puts a smile on our faces everyday! Thank you so much again!

Jenny & Mike

Rufus & Brady

Greetings to everyone at Burlington Humane! It has been a few years now since we adopted Brady and Rufus and these pictures were just so great of the two of them I couldn't resist sharing them.

Brady is now 10 and Rufus is 7 years old. Both are such an absolute joy in our lives. They are completely opposite of each other and it's quite comical. We adopted Rufus three years after Brady, so she's taught him a lot - much of which he only uses occasionally. Brady is very obedient; pleasing her people comes naturally. She's incredibly smart and does a great job watching over her people.

Rufus is a goofball! We learned quickly that his motivation is food, so obedience came quite easily once we figured that out. Rufus is smart too, but sneaky smart - he knows how to get what he wants! Rufus loves his people too, and with Brady in the lead he has time to goof off. He makes me laugh everyday!

We took these pictures just last week at their favourite place, the cottage. Brady loves to swim, but not Rufus, he'd rather socialize with the kids and other dogs nearby. We look forward to many years with both of them as they are in good health and keep each other busy when we're not home. Keep up all the great work you do - if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have Brady and Rufus.

Mrs. Nesbitt (nee Onyx)

Just a quick note to tell you how much we love our cat! We adopted 'Mrs. Nesbitt', formerly known as 'Onyx' on February 15, 2007. She has been fantastic. She is a very sweet cat, very loving and playful!

She is EXCELLENT with our 4 year old son, who, by the way, told Santa, when he asked if he had any brothers or sisters (he doesn't), he answered 'yes, I have a sister, her name is Mrs. Nesbitt.' She has been an excellent addition to our family and we love her very much.

Thank you! Barb

Maggie & Georgie (nee Cambra & Camella)

I adopted Cambra and Camella (2 sisters) on November 3rd and they have been re-christened as Maggie and Georgie.

Maggie is the naughty one, always in trouble and Georgie is the quieter one (but she can also cause havoc when they¹re chasing each other around!!) Georgie likes to suck on things...preferably my chin, my ear or my neck! She does this till she falls asleep with her nose tuck in my ear purring like a furry engine!

They are both a delight and wonderful company they sleep in bed with me and have full run of my apartment. As you can see from the photos they are both growing (now 4 months old) and they have beautiful shiny coats.

Thanks again, Stephanie

Ami (nee Proof)

I just thought you might want to know that Proof is doing very well in her new home. It is just over a week now and she is exploring her new territory a lot more and getting to know us better. We have also given her a new name, "Ami". Thank you for helping us select our new addition to the family.

Best Regards, Terry and family

Little Miss Voodoo (nee Tavy) &
Jinx (nee Icarus)

We just wanted to let you know how Tavy (now named Little Miss Voodoo) and Icarus (now named Jinx) are doing. Jinx is coming along well and not too afraid anymore. They are so much fun and have a lot of energy. We are so happy to have adopted them.

Thanks again. Jenna

Jazz

Just wanted to give you an update on Jazz. He is settling in and is not shy about letting us know his likes and dislikes. Jazz likes us but he really loves his food, the kitchen is his favorite room in the house. He has picked his favourite spots and sleeps on the bed with us.

Take care, Margie

Dory

Hi, I just wanted to take a moment to send a quick thank you for your help with adopting Dory. Since I brought her home in November she's been a real joy to have around the apartment and I couldn't imagine the place without her. She has been exceptionally well behaved, which has really surprised me. That's not to say she hasn't gotten into some mischief, but she has been really great. The first night she was here she had the run of the place. When I picked her up in the morning she looked a bit gray, even though I could have sworn I brought a black and white cat home. I had a closer look and I saw little black paw prints on the white couch. Turns out I hadn't considered the fireplace. It wasn't being used, but it still had some soot in it from last winter. A well place plant in front of the fireplace took care of that, but it did take some time for her fur to lose the gray tones. :)

For the first couple of weeks she would run around the apartment when it was time to go to bed, but by now she settles down when the lights go out and there aren't any problems at all. She was also waking me up every morning around 6:30 for the first 6 weeks or so, but now she's a little more forgiving about that too. Occasionally I get to sleep in!

A lot of times in the afternoon she'll flake out on my desk while I'm working. Unfortunately, she really likes the feel of a keyboard, so she tends to lie down exactly there. I've now got my keyboard locked when I'm away from my computer to prevent any cat-related deleting of files. (I was able to recover all of the files she initially deleted with some unfortunate key combinations she triggered). So, I've attached some photos of Dory flaked out on my desk, where she seems to feel quite at home. :)

Thanks again for allowing me to give Dory a home. I wanted to write sooner, but I've been spending a lot of time on kitten-related activities, so a few things have had to wait until things slowed down. This has been a great experience for me and I just wanted to let you all know that your work is really appreciated.

All the best and a Happy New Year, Olaf

Pixie (nee Madame) & Wilma

Just wanted to give you an update on Pixie (formerly Madame) and Wilma. Both girls are growing fast and doing well. They act like siblings, Wilma will cry when she can't find Pixie. Pixie is the dainty little girl. You can't hear her coming toward you, you have to listen to hear her meow and she likes to cuddle at night. Pixie has claimed the chair at the computer desk and likes to be involved when you are on the computer. Wilma is the bull in the china shop. When she runs, it sounds like a few animals coming at you, she is very vocal (you can carry on a conversation with her) and she likes to be near you. She will lie at my feet while I am doing the dishes and play games with us. They have become a wonderful part of our family, they are comical to watch and very affectionate.

Lexi (nee Momma Mia)

Lexi (formerly Momma Mia) is adjusting to our home just fine ... she sleeps all day and is a party girl at night :) I am so glad that you told us that she loves fleece blankets; she's had lots of cuddle time on all of our laps and it didn't take her long at all to come out into the house. She is slowly figuring out that she doesn't have to sleep by herself at night too. Bryan fell instantly in love with her, and she with him. She's a sweetie-cat.

Melinda, Frank and Bryan

UPDATE:

Hello again, Just wanted to send a new picture of Lexi (nee Momma Mia). She is doing great and is such a perfect fit with our family, we all love her so much. She loves to party at night, steal toys, attack wiggling toes and will hang out in any lap that is sitting still. She's lost all of her shyness and is so comfortable and happy. We are glad we found her!

Frank, Melinda, Bryan and Lexi

Jewel

We are sending you a picture of Jewel who we adopted on October 17th 2007. As you can see she's soon made friends with Peaches who we adopted from 'Animal Aid' December 27th 2005 We are so lucky to have not only one sweet and affectionate cat but two. Peaches was featured in Happy Tails with our grandchildren. Keep up the good work and thank you so much.

Joyce and Tony Moore

Oreo

We just wanted to write to you and tell you how much we love Oreo! He has settled in to our home very quickly and we just adore him. He loves watching the birds outside, playing with all his new toys, and loves to be brushed. We have many stairs in our home, so we are hoping that will allow him to get some exercise and drop a few pounds, however we love him just the way he is. We can't thank you enough for allowing us to take Oreo home with us, he is the perfect addition to our new home. I have attached a couple pictures of him enjoying his new home. In the last picture he is having his afternoon nap in our bed! one of his favourite spots =)

Sincerely, Derek and Noelle

Kola

Thank you so much for helping us find our newest family member. We've named her "Kola" after her beautiful brown and black fur. My husband and I had often talked about getting a puppy, however we didn't know when the time was right, until we met eight week old "Kola". We fell in love with her cute face and playful spirit. Three weeks later our black lab shepherd has definitely settled into her new home and we're having tons of fun with her. She is extremely playful and absolutely loves being with people of all ages. She is a great enjoyment to us both and we can't imagine our home without her.

Thank you to the Burlington Humane Society for all that you do everyday for the animals who are in need of a special home.

Boogie

Boogie is doing wonderful. He is a constant delight to have around, and he even enjoys going to the vet! When I picked him up from his neuter, they said he was one of the best behaved cats that they had ever had to give needles to, and that their highschool co-op student had fallen in love with him.

Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to adopt this wonderful little kitten.

Wembley

Thank you so much for helping us find our newest family member. We've named her Wembly, after a carefree Muppet. She is so good about listening and cuddling and playing and just being the best puppy ever. We've attached a link to out pet photos and wanted to say thanks. She was 32" tip to tip (nose to tail) when we got her, this week on Wednesday she was 41". She is obedient and playful and very perfect. Have a great weekend!!
